Gavin McGlothlin, a 7th Grader, says, “It helps you be more interactive with your friends, and you can stay in touch with them better. It’s not like messages where you have to get their number, you can add them quicker and more efficiently.” As Gavin said, Snapchat allows you to be more interactive with your friends, by being able to send photos, videos, and text messages through a simple, easy-to-use app. In Snapchat, you don’t need to go around asking people for their phone numbers. All you need to do is search for their Snapchat username, and that’s it!

Snapchat is also very easy for new users to learn. “For new users, start by adding people you know, and then go from there,” Gavin says. If you are new to Snapchat, you can start by adding your friends’ usernames. That way, you can have a good start to your new Snapchat account. Additionally, there is a feature called Snapstreak, which counts the number of days you have sent a Snap to someone, and they have sent a Snap back. As Gavin says, “You can interact more and stay connected with your friends better.” There is a setting that allows you to get notifications when someone sends you something, and it’s important to check back often, so you can reply to their messages. “It’s something that I don’t really stay on, but something that I just check up on and reply to stuff,” Gavin says.
