Have you ever wanted to learn a language, but don’t know which to choose? Well, look no further, Exploring Languages is the class for you.
Exploring Languages is an elective class that jump-starts your language journey. In the class, you will learn the basics of Latin, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese. Exploring Languages gives students a feel for what language class they might want to take in high school. It also allows students to feel how hard it is to learn a language. After the class, some students might not want to start learning a language outside of a language class because of how hard and how much time it takes. Zainab Zaidi, a 7th grader at McCullough who took Exploring Languages in her first semester, was interviewed to get her opinion on the class. Zainab says that she liked the class because “It was very easy to introduce myself to new languages.” She also mentioned that she used, “Chromebooks to study for tests, and memory devices to remember what the words mean.” Some teachers play games with the students as well to help their reaction speed and knowledge of the language quicken.
Exploring Languages is an elective class that allows people to experience different languages, and helps students choose what language they may want to study in high school.
