Should You Join the McCullough Orchestra?

Should+You+Join+the+McCullough+Orchestra%3F

The McCullough Orchestra is willing to welcome any new players, so are you considering joining? McC’s orchestra is separated into six different groups that are based on skill level. Sinfonietta, Philharmonic, Camerata, Symphony, Concert, and Chamber. Sinfonietta is the lowest while Chamber is the highest performing orchestra. There are many students in each class, so don’t be discouraged if you’re put into a lower group. A student in the Philharmonic, Eva Reyes, has agreed to talk about the orchestra. Eva Reyes, 7th Grade: “I joined the McCullough orchestra because my mom was in orchestra, and she suggested it to me. I also decided to join because I like string instruments.” If you plan on joining the McC orchestra, you do not have to have a specific reason, everyone is welcome! Eva Reyes, 7th Grade: “I picked to play the cello because it has the best sound in my opinion. I think it’s a good instrument in between the viola and bass.”  If you are interested in an instrument, I would recommend taking private lessons as an extracurricular activity. If you have ever thought of joining the McCullough Orchestra, I believe that you have the potential to get into the group you are interested in. Although orchestra is fun, you have to prepare yourself to practice if you want to get into a higher group. Don’t give up, be persistent, and try your best!
