The Responsibility of Homework

The Responsibility of Homework

Imagine spending 7-8 hours every day at school, and then having to go home and do more schoolwork. That is what it is like for most students attending McCullough Junior High.

A friend of mine, Gaya Gorbonos recently shared with me that she often struggles to complete all her homework. She normally gets home and spends about 4 hours at practice, then has to spend another hour after on homework. She stated that “Often I feel like there is too much homework.”, I agree. This can be very tiring for a student.

Gaya wanted to share some of her tips she uses to finish her homework. She told me that she likes to “Use a planner to remind her of what homework she has.”. This can be a great option for most students because they can immediately write down the assignment after the teacher speaks. Once home you can look back and complete the homework. Gaya also stated that “I tend to use textbooks, both online and from the school library in order to help on assignments.”. This idea sounds very helpful since most students have access to the library.

Gaya Gorbonos has shared multiple helpful tips today. She has stressed the importance of managing your homework, and how many students have lots of it. Even though we are all busy, these were helpful tips that many students can use.
