Have you ever wondered how you can make studying more enjoyable? Well, many students have found that listening to music while studying is a very helpful thing to do.

When you are studying by yourself, it can get kind of dull. But if you turn on a playlist while studying, it can make doing your homework or preparing for a test easier and more enjoyable. If you want to study with music, your playlists should include calm and slower songs that you like rather than some fast up-beat songs. This is because if you listen to music with a fast beat and have long sets of lyrics then you will most likely get distracted and do less work.

Max Bates, an eighth grader at McCullough Junior High, sometimes likes to listen to music while he is studying or doing homework. He says, “It makes me feel like more comfortable but it’s kind of distracting when it’s at a high volume.” His solution to this problem is to “listen to any music as long as it’s like a pretty low volume.” This is because having music at a lower volume will make your brain pay less attention to the music and more attention to whatever you want to do and complete. But sometimes listening to some of your favorite music at a low volume can still be distracting. And if you are that kind of person, then I recommend using Lo-Fi music. Lo-Fi music is a type of music that is known to be calm, low beat, and great for studying and doing homework. Lo-Fi music is free and can be found anywhere from a music app to YouTube. Lo-Fi music is proven to be less distracting and, in most instances, helpful. Whenever I use Lo-Fi music, I find myself more relaxed and focused on my work. But for a percentage of people, it’s more helpful to just study quietly and without noise. But that is totally up to you to decide. Studying without noise poses fewer distractions and it can be easier to focus on doing your work.

For many people, music has been proven helpful and a more enjoyable thing to have while studying. When you’re studying, you should listen to some of your favorite songs at a low volume or Lo-Fi music at a normal volume. Just make sure not to listen to any fast-beat songs because those can be distracting. But for some people, it is more effective to just study in plain silence. But everybody is different, so try both methods out. And if you feel like one is better than the other, then do that one! It is one hundred percent your call!
