Don’t give up on something right away

Dont give up on something right away

8th grader Vida Mitchel is a super-athlete who enjoys new experiences and who doesn’t give up on something she doesn’t like right away.

Vida was a dancer for 7 years until she got bored of it, so then she wanted to challenge herself by playing soft ball for one year until she kept getting hurt, so she quit and went back to dancing because she missed it.

Vida Mitchel wanted to try new experiences by trying softball and how it felt being under pressure. “All the parents screaming at you when you’re up to bat and it’s like…nerve wracking and scary because you got them yelling at you making you think you’re going to mess up” She was nervous because when your being screamed at you would get a knot in your stomach and that’s exactly what she said she felt. “ But it was good for me because I got to try a sport I wouldn’t think I would try” Vida was so happy for trying this new sport, that it gave her an idea of what other kids felt when they are playing softball, and what pressure they went through, but overall she was happy she tried it and was happy she got to experience softball, and not to give up on something right away. “The only reason why I quit was because I kept getting hurt, like really bad, and the pressure of, when I’m up to bat and they are just screaming at you, makes me not focus.”  But Vida did get a trophy for getting 2nd place in the championship and a certificate for being good at the position she was playing.

Above all, since Vida tried something new and tried her best for a year, she got to experience what it was like to be a softball player and to keep practicing for those goals and to keep on doing new things “-or else you will never know what it’s like to be a good player.”
